Kanye West’s $57 Million Malibu Mansion Disaster Is Headed for a Full-Blown Trial

A judge has refused to shut down the explosive lawsuit tied to Kanye West’s infamous Malibu mansion, clearing the way for the case to move toward a full trial. The legal battle centers on Tony Saxon, a construction consultant who claims he was pulled into a chaotic renovation nightmare after Ye bought the $57 million beachfront home.

Kanye West Fails to Derail Lawsuit Over $57 Million Malibu Mansion

According to court filings, Saxon says he was hired to manage the project with a promise of $20,000 a week, only to receive a single payment before everything unraveled. He alleges he was forced to live on-site under harsh conditions, suffered injuries while working, and was pressured to follow extreme instructions that raised serious safety concerns. One alleged breaking point came when Ye demanded the removal of windows and electricity from the house. Saxon says he refused, fearing the building would become dangerous, and was soon fired after tensions escalated.

Ye’s legal team tried to argue that Saxon had no right to sue because he was not a licensed contractor, but the judge ruled that the issue should be decided by a jury, not dismissed outright. As a result, Saxon’s claims for unpaid wages, medical expenses, lost income, and emotional distress will move forward, with a trial currently set for 2026.

The conflict has only grown messier. Ye has launched his own countersuit, accusing Saxon and his attorneys of filing an improper lien against the property and sabotaging efforts to sell the home by making public accusations. The Malibu mansion itself has become a symbol of the fallout, a once-celebrated architectural gem that was heavily gutted during Ye’s ownership and later sold at a major loss.

What began as a luxury renovation has now turned into a high-stakes courtroom drama, with both sides accusing the other of misconduct, and a jury ultimately expected to decide who is telling the truth behind one of Kanye West’s most controversial real estate sagas.
