TikTokers Share Their 2017 Encounter With Paul Murdaugh

TikTok has unearthed a chilling encounter between Paul Murdaugh, the son of disbarred attorney Alex Murdaugh, and two English TikTokers, Adam Pink and Max Burton. The video reveals a carefree Paul, seemingly oblivious to the dark fate awaiting him just a few years later.

In the newly surfaced footage, Paul is seen partying at a luxury resort in the Bahamas, exuding youthful exuberance. He was intoxicated and enjoying life with his girlfriend and newfound friends, laughing and making plans for an epic trip to England. “We were just having fun partying. He was a nice lad,” Max recalls, reminiscing about their time together.

However, the lighthearted memories take a haunting turn when the TikTokers reflect on a chilling invitation Paul extended to them: “Oh, you need to come to South Carolina and come out on the boat.” This casual remark now looms ominously, given the tragic events that would later unfold, including the fatal boat crash that claimed the life of a 19-year-old woman.

Adam and Max, who have built their TikTok fame on humor and relatable content, were taken aback by the gravity of their interactions with Paul. “Did you ever hear about the boat crash?” Adam asks, a somber tone replacing the earlier joviality. Their response is one of disbelief; they had no inkling of the tragedy that would soon envelop Paul’s life.

The timeline of their friendship reveals a series of unsettling texts. In August 2019, Paul requested they delete a video featuring him and his girlfriend, stating they were no longer together and should not have contact. Just two years later, in May 2021, he reached out again, eager to visit England. “We need to plan a time. For real, man. You going to put me on the UK ladies?” It was a lighthearted message that now feels tragically ironic.

Only weeks after that final text, Paul and his mother were murdered in a 𝓈𝒽𝓸𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔 crime that has captivated the nation. Alex Murdaugh, Paul’s father, is now serving two life sentences for the horrific act, leaving a trail of devastation in his wake.

The TikTokers are left grappling with the surreal nature of their memories with Paul. “It didn’t seem real. It still doesn’t really to us,” Adam admits, the weight of the past pressing heavily on their minds. Their story serves as a stark reminder of how quickly life can change, transforming carefree moments into haunting memories.
