Strictly Come Dancing’s Nadiya Bychkova has launched a career in acting as she stars in a new Netflix film about ballroom dancing.
The pro dancer, 36, who is best known for Strictly, steps into the shoes of 10Dance’s leading lady Liana – a former World and European dancing champion.
Initially released as a Japanese manga, the story is an LGBTQ+ enemies-to-lovers tale that has been wowing audiences since its release on December 18.
The Strictly star wrote on Instagram: ‘This film is about rivalry, romance, and the quiet magic that happens when two people truly connect on the dancefloor.
‘Working with the most incredible Japanese cast and crew made this experience unforgettable.
‘I learned so much, felt so challenged, and fell a little bit in love with acting along the way. I can’t wait for you to watch it and step into this world with us.’

10Dance’s official synopsis reads: ‘Two dancers, opposites in all but their art, agree to train together for a competition. At first, they clash, but soon become drawn to each other.’
The film has proven so popular that it is now in the streaming service’s top 10 non-English films.
10Dance’s release comes hot on the heels of another eventful season on Strictly for Nadiya, who was eliminated in week four with her former England rugby captain partner Chris Robshaw, 38.
But while the dancer might have had a limited run on Strictly this year, she was not short of support from fans after announcing her acting debut.
Her fellow Strictly star Katya Jones simply replied with three heart emojis.
