Pete Wicks has shared an emotional career update as he continues to grieve the death of his beloved dog Peggy, admitting the loss left him “heartbroken” while also reaffirming his passion for working with rescue animals.

While discussing his work, Wicks also spoke candidly about the loss of his dog Peggy, who died after months of illness and treatment. He revealed that her death, which occurred a couple of months ago, deeply affected him.
Talking about his remaining rescue dog Eric, now aged 12, Wicks shared a tender update, joking about Eric’s age and health while making it clear the pair are coping together. He admitted that losing Peggy was devastating, particularly for anyone who understands the bond between people and their dogs.

Despite the grief, Wicks has hinted that he may consider adopting another dog in the future—but only when the time and circumstances are right. He has previously stressed that responsible adoption means matching a dog’s needs to your lifestyle, and that any future decision would also have to suit Eric.
